The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the Purchasing and Material Planning Team. This position reports to the BECLS Indianapolis Supply Chain Manager and is part of the Supply Chain Team located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Optimize performance of Buying KPIs (including, Past Due POs, Supplier OTD and GRNI) utilizing deployment of the Danaher Business System (DBS) to drive process improvements.
- Responsible for developing and driving Inventory Action Plans to reduce raw material inventory utilizing IMAG with thorough understanding of KB and PFEP (Plan For Every Part) processes.
- Responsible for working with the Demand Planning team to understand PSI and ensure the Raw Material Planners are right sizing materials to support Customer demand.
- Organize and develop the buying and raw material planning team to best meet the needs of the business, providing mentoring, coaching and strong leadership, collaborating both with Operations, Demand Planning and FG Planning Teams.
- Lead excellent communication and teamwork between the Buying Team and Operations teams to ensure successful execution and attainment to meet Customer needs and deliver to Plant KPIs.
- Act with urgency and lead team(s) in effectively problem solving to resolve supply risks linked to raw material.
The essential requirements of the job include: - Bachelors degree with 9+ years-experience OR Masters degree with 7+ years-experience including Buying, Planning and Inventory roles.
- Exposure in Buying, Planning and Inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- High level analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to develop inventory forecasts and action plans.
- Demonstrated Problem Solving Skills to resolve complex problems and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to develop and build rapport, collaborate and influence at all levels within an organization.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - Experience leading Kaizen Teams.
- Oracle Experience a plus.
