About This Team
The Global Network Engineering team builds, operates, and evolves the foundational network infrastructure that powers lululemon's global business. We operate as a platform team, partnering closely with application, cloud, security, and enterprise technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure connectivity across retail, corporate, distribution, and cloud environments worldwide.
As a Staff Network Engineer, you are a technical leader and architect for lululemon's global network infrastructure. This is a senior-most individual contributor role focused on architecture, backbone and WAN engineering, and long-term platform evolution. This role is not a people management position.
You will own and influence the design, resiliency, scalability, and operability of the enterprise network and global backbone. You will guide technical direction, set architectural standards, and help prioritize work across multiple initiatives and teams to improve reliability, reduce complexity, and support business growth.
A Day in the Life
- Define and evolve global network and backbone architectures.
- Serve as a technical authority and escalation point for complex network issues.
- Lead architectural design reviews and influence multi-team initiatives.
- Design proactive solutions to improve resiliency, MTTR, and cost efficiency.
- Balance near-term delivery with long-term architectural health.
- Partner with engineering leadership and architects on strategy.
- Mentor engineers on architectural thinking and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and long-term evolution of enterprise and global network platforms.
- Design and guide implementation of backbone routing, WAN, and cloud-integrated solutions.
- Establish network standards, patterns, and guardrails across teams.
- Influence prioritization by articulating technical tradeoffs.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with security, cloud, and application teams.
- Drive systemic improvements that reduce operational complexity.
- Coach and elevate the network engineering community.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of enterprise network engineering experience supporting large-scale environments.
- Proven experience designing and operating backbone and WAN infrastructures.
- Deep expertise in routing and traffic engineering (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience defining network architecture and influencing technical strategy.
- Ability to lead initiatives through technical influence and prioritization.
- Strong understanding of high-availability and resiliency design principles.
- Enterprise & Platform Experience
- Expertise in hybrid enterprise networking, spanning on-premises, data center, cloud, and SaaS connectivity models.
- Strong experience with network security architecture, including segmentation, VPN technologies, zero-trust principles, and integration with security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Zscaler).
- Practical experience with cloud networking constructs (VPC/VNet design, routing, transit, connectivity patterns).
- Working knowledge of network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, using tools such as Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
- Experience with network observability and operational tooling, using telemetry and metrics to guide design decisions and improve MTTR.
- Leads through influence without direct people management.
- Mentors engineers on architecture and operational excellence.
- Communicates technical tradeoffs clearly to leadership and peers.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $164,000 - $210,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
