MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
We are seeking a Software Engineer to work on rapid R&D development of capabilities of the MARSHAL project transitioning into the Navys leading weather (Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC), application suite: Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System Next Generation (NITES-Next).
NITES-Next is a web-based application with a Java backend and a React JavaScript (React JS) frontend that runs in the Electron Framework. The application includes complex geospatial tools, maps displays, tabular displays, and various complex plots that are used by Navy and Marine Corps personnel to predict weather and prepare weather briefs and analysis for a variety of military operations. Geospatial aspects of the application use Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard services: Web Coverage Service (WCS), Web Map Service (WMS), Web Feature Service (WFS), and Web Processing Service (WPS). Candidates will work on an active Scrum Agile development team. We use a continuous integration environment (CIE) and a DevSecOps environment. We deploy in both web services model and with a container and micro services based architecture.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Our Software Engineer must have:
Security Clearance Level: Active Secret clearance.
Experience: 5 years of Java and React JS Development experience.
Geospatial development and experience with applications that have some display on a map.
Knowledge/experience with any of the other technologies listed, domain experience in Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) / Weather, or Navy Command and Control.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
